An educational institution must continually attempt to keep abreast of the demands of society. Underlying causes of these societal demands of the present generation include scientific and technological advances, further study into the behavioral sciences, rapid urbanization, newer concepts of living, and relative affluence amid continued disparities among social classes. Although the schools are not wholly responsible for American social reform, they unmistakably have been handed, presently and historically, a large portion of the assignment. Such a responsibility on the part of the school implies the need for a responsible and relevant program of studies. Thus, a systematic, alert, and continuous process for the examination and evaluation of curriculum offerings must be ever present
