The trend toward interdisciplinary teaching teams in middle school has helped to meet many needs of the student population and the staff in these schools. The teaching teams develop a collegiality that helps to eliminate the sense of isolation that teachers experience (Rosenholtz, 1989). Unfortunately in some middle schools some teachers\u27 assignments are outside this team structure. Thus the isolation may create a perceived difference in climate relating to teachers\u27 involvement and interaction, sense of belonging or affiliation, and shared goals
