Abstract

Of all the characters of the Ancient World none is better known today, both to scholars and to those whose knowledge of that history is small, than Cicero; Statesman, Orator, and Author. And of all the achievements of that great man the most widely known is the part he took, in cooperation with the Senatorial party in crushing the Catilinian Conspiracy. Despite the fact that this is his outstanding achievement, however, there is nowhere in English a full history of that period. In text books containing the orations of Cicero, will be found a chapter or so on the subject, which, however, merely attempts to give an outline. It is the purpose of this TRANSLATION to put into English a full discussion of it
