Impacts of Poverty Alleviation Program on the Income Level of the Grassroots People

This study was carried out with Sungi Development Foundation, a non-governmental and non-profit organization working in rural remote areas of Hazara Division in the northern part of Pakistan. It is about how Sungi\u27s poverty alleviation program of is helping the poor grassroots people by increasing their income levels. Secondly, if there is any change in the income level of the poor people, there must be a change in their livelihood in relation to the change in the assets, professions, and basic problems. Basically, it is an impact study which attempts to shed light on both the qualitative and quantitative aspects of Sungi\u27s poverty alleviation efforts in the field of community development. In this study, both the positivist and interpretive approaches were used to highlight the impacts of Sungi\u27s interventions regarding poverty alleviation. This study confirms that remarkable changes have occurring in the lives of the grassroots people which are also apparent by the changes in their assets, professions and income levels. In addition to this, people have been mobilized, organized and empowered to take initiatives by their own self by mobilizing their own local resources on the platforms of local village organization. This study also confirms that development would only be sustainable when the people on whom it is focused participate from start to end
