The essays, stories, and novel sections within this multi-genre collection have been assembled through the process of creating small fragments and parts. Through juxtaposition these small parts create multi-genre narratives. The first section, Family Artifacts, is comprised of two creative non-fiction essays tackling complex family dynamics, identity, class, and gender. The same subjects are extended into fiction in the second section titled Story Scraps featuring a short story and sections of a novel in-progress. This thesis offers vastly different ex-amples of the author\u27s voice and range as she works through the dangerous territories of complicated cultural and personal questions within the landscape of a multi-genre collection
