New wood waste standard operating procedures for Canadian disposal at sea program

Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Disposal at Sea Program regulates Disposal at Sea activities with the goal of preventing marine pollution. Most of the material that is disposed of at sea is dredged material that must be moved to keep shipping channels and harbors clear for navigation and commerce. In British Columbia dredged material sometimes contains wood waste as a by-product of the wood processing industry.
