Partnerships are essential for achieving the recovery and survival of our species at risk. This is especially true in the Salish Sea given the large number of species at risk, the diversity in land use, and the multi-jurisdictional context for species at risk management in B.C. To ensure effective partnerships, individuals need to be aware of the different ways in which the Species at Risk Act applies on federal and non-federal land in Canada, as well as the important roles knowledge holders, land owners, and land managers play.
