ECOSS, a non-profit based in South Seattle providing sustainable solutions for all, expanded its small business spill kit outreach program with a grant from Puget Sound Partnership and other funders. This program provided spill prevention plans, spill cleanup kits, employee trainings, and support materials to affect behavior change in at least 30 jurisdictions, in three counties, at over 2,800 businesses in six languages during a two-year period. By applying social marketing techniques, ECOSS’s spill kit outreach program increased environmental performance by creating awareness of spills and their impact on local water resources while improving businesses’ and agencies’ economic bottom line
