Jerusalem: Chruch of the Holy Sepulchre

Originally constructed during the rule of Emperor Constantine, The Church of the Holy Sepulchre was built as one of a number of memorial structures intended to, “enshrine places or objects associated with Gospel episodes or other hallowed events.” The Holy Sepulchre is built around the enclosed tomb of Christ.
