Professor Poonam Puri appointed a Commissioner of the Ontario Securities Commission for a two-year term

TORONTO, Jan. 26, 2018 /CNW/ - Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) Chair and CEO Maureen Jensen announced today the following appointments to the Commission. These Commissioners will each serve a two-year term. Poonam Puri is a respected scholar and commentator on issues of corporate governance, corporate law, securities law and financial regulation. For the past 20 years, she has been a Professor of Law at Osgoode Hall Law School, where she teaches and conducts research on securities regulation and investor protection. Poonam was one of two research directors for the Expert Panel on Securities Regulation, Federal Ministry of Finance, which led to the proposed common securities regulator
