My objective is to make portraits in oil paint involving the relationship between color and emotion. By working through this relationship I will further my understanding of how colors make the viewer react and emotionally respond to the portrait. In my studio I am using techniques learned in the J-Term class Draw/Paint/Sculpt the Portrait, including charcoal drawing, oil painting, color samples, and miniature studies of the portrait before turning it into a final product. My work will be based on life observation as well as photography.
