There has been a number of studies that have explored the effects of perceived racism and discrimination on psychological well-being. Though, to gain an overall understanding of this research with researched various populations around the world as well as various characteristics of well-being that had been affected by the perceived discrimination. Through the interpretation of over 45 different articles we concluded that discrimination regardless of race, ethnicity, and gender negatively impacts individuals psychological well being in a number of different aspects; including through depression, stress, self-esteem, externalizing behaviors, and overall life satisfaction
