This research topic is based on evidence based research on the impact of local adapted sports teams for the overall disabled community. Focusing on examining how having an adaptive sports team may impacts that community – does it unify the community, attract new residents to the area, etc. Research focuses on cities that have multiple adapted recreation opportunities and look for evidence that may impact their town. i.e. population of disabled residences, accessible friendly facilities, etc. I will also examine how many of those programs are for profit vs. non-profit; how many Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists are on staff, and are they full- time, part-time, or PRN.https://encompass.eku.edu/swps_graduategallery/1084/thumbnail.jp
