Having a low self-esteem has been linked to social and personal problems (Stetes and Burke, 2014), poor mental health outcomes (Orth, Robins, & Meier, 2009; Orth, Robins, & Roberts, 2008), and failure to develop positive social networks (Marshall, Parker, Ciarrochi, & Heaven, 2014). In this research project, the researchers identified the effects of self-esteem, through acts of empowerment and recreation activities, on adolescent females. Implications for future research and considerations are explored.https://encompass.eku.edu/swps_graduategallery/1004/thumbnail.jp
