Lucas Hamilton\u27s Senior Concert and Laugh More

For the first part of my senior project, as is typical with students in the music program, I had a concert. It was very creatively titled Senior Concert I and consisted of eight original rock and jazz songs and one cover. For the second semester I decided to try and do something a little more unorthodox and substantially more difficult in most respects. I recorded a rock album of original music, entitled Laugh More. One of the main goals with both projects was to prove that I could write and present my own music effectively, whether in a contrived recorded context or in a messier live one. When I came to Bard I did not intend to study music. I did not even play drums, which is now the main focus of both my academic and nonacademic life. Although I am still very new to music and constantly learning, the two parts of my SPROJ are a testament that I have come very far in a very short amount of time. I am not entirely pleased with my SPROJ. I know that both parts could have been better in a myriad of ways. But I am still exceedingly, ridiculously proud of both my concert and my album. There may be many imperfections between the two but it is clear to me that they are only a hint of what I may accomplish in the future if I continue down this path
