Louis Fischer (1896-1970) – is a famous American journalist, who worked in Russia and in Europe almost for 20 years as personal European correspondent of the magazine «The Nation» (1922-1940). He was the professor at Princeton (1930) and Yale (1936) universities. Vladimir O. Pechatnov wrote that "Fischer was never a communist, but, apparently, has gained a good reputation and intercourse in Moscow as respected and friendly Western commentator. Fisher's correspondence, as well as his books about the Soviet Russia in the West, brought him a fame of one of the leading experts on Soviet foreign policy"
