A rotary feeder for injecting solid particles into a pressurized fluid system is described. The system includes a hopper for receiving particles and a device for transporting the particles from the hopper to a feeder roller. The cylindrical feeder roller includes a plurality of recessed troughs that are positioned at an angle from the axis of the cylindrical roller. Particles are transported from the hopper to the recessed troughs of the feeder roller and are subsequently fed into a venturi section of a solid-liquid slurry pipe system.
