Ein neues Merkmal nutzbar für Taxonomie und Phylogenie der Anisoptera (Odonata). Das Vorhandensein/Fehlen einer deutlichen, engen, meist parallelseitigen, medio-basalen Rinne von variabler Lange auf der Ventralflache des Praementum wird ais nützliches Merkmal fur die Trennung der cordulüden/corduliinen s. I. von den übelluliden/libellulinen s. I. Gattungen vorgestellt. Es wird gezeigt, dass diese Rinne auch in manchen Mitgliedern aller anderen Familien der Epiproctophora vorkommt. Die Verbreitung des Merkmals innerhalb der Libelluloidea und seine mögliche Bedeutung für „Schnelle Biologische Bewertungen" und für phylogenetische Studien werden diskutiert.
