The main aim of this contribution is to analyse the dependence that the wives were establishing with different shrines in Ancient Greece, in relation with a fundamental factor in their lives : maternity. The processes that I am interested in emphasising are conception, pregnancy and childbirth ; across the following pages there will be uncovered how in every phase there were generated a series of religious ceremonies by the purpose of contributing to the success and to the definitive change of status : from parthenos to guné.
