L'identité de Drosophila (Sophophora) vulcana Graber (Diptera, Drosophilidae)

Summary. — The identity of Drosophila (Sophophora) vulcana Graber (Diptera, Drosophilidae). — The study of the original material of D. vulcana did not reveal a male of this species ; two females probably belonging to this species are present. The stock from Zimbabwe that Bock & Wheeler consider to be D. vulcana is, in part, probably Drosophila seguyiSmart. A careful examination of the description and the illustrations of Graber enable us to draw the conclusion that D. vulcana possesses certain specific characters which enable it to be identified.Résumé. — L'examen du matériel original de Drosophila vulcana n'a pas permis d'y découvrir un mâle de cette espèce ; deux femelles appartiennent probablement à cette espèce. La souche du Zimbabwe, considérée par Bock & Wheeler comme D. vulcana, est, en partie, probablement Drosophila seguyi Smart. L'examen minutieux de la description et des figures de Graber ont permis de dégager quelques caractères spécifiques pour D. vulcana rendant possible ainsi son identification.Tsacas Léonidas, Chassagnard Marie-Thérèse.
