The large samples of B and D mesons that are now available allow for detailed studies of the dynamics in semileptonic decays of mesons containing heavy quarks. In charm decays, form factors are studied in samples of several thousand events and are becoming precision measurements. In B-decays form factor measurements show consistency with heavy quark symmetry but further studies are needed to measure the form factors more precisely
