Khandaria Mahadeva, Outer Wall, 10th-11th Centuries

The Khandaria is the greatest of the Khajuraho temples. It is 100' long and 100' in height. It was originally a temple, like the Lakshmana, with four subsidiary sanctuaries. The temple platform is not rectangular but follows the outline of the building. Between its balconies the walls are decorated with three rows of figures in erotic scenes.
