The experience of Lithuanian universities in developing modern competences of students of socio-pedagogical professions

The article analyses the importance of the international collaboration (1989-1991) in creating scientific - practical base for studies of social pedagogy in post-Soviet countries. Also it presents the influence of the Bologna Declaration (1998) upon preparation of social pedagogues according to European dimensions. Referring to several doctoral dissertations (A. Urboniene, L. Majauskiene, S. Crisafulli, J.
