The purpose of this capstone thesis was to write a call-to-action manuscript that will be submitted for publication to the American Art Therapy Association Journal. The manuscript calls upon the American Art Therapy Association as the national organization of the profession to create LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual) guidelines for art therapy, including the importance of integrating LGBTQIA history in graduate school curricula.
