Los celos: diferencias entre hombres y mujeres en la dimensión emocional, dimensión cognitiva y dimensión conductual.

Curs: 2018/2019.This research is oriented toward the study of the possible differences between men and women in the three jealousy dimensions: emotional, cognitive and behavioural. Furthermore, it has also been discussed if there exist distinctions among age categories, especially in young and adult people. The aims of the study, therefore, were to see whether being a man or being a woman or being young (17-25) or old (50- 71); whether women would score more in the emotional dimension; whether women would score more in the cognitive dimension and see if men would score more in the behavioral dimension. After that, the hypotheses generated were that: there will be differences between men and women; women will score higher in emotional dimension and cognitive dimension and men will score higher in behavioral dimension. To carry it out, 197 participants, aged from 18 to 71 years, have participated by responding to a questionnaire on jealousy that measures the three dimensions, being women the 70.56% and men the remaining 29.44%. In order to be able to carry out the objectives and test the assumptions, a comparison of averages was carried out in the SPSS statistical package. The results for men and women show that there are differences in the emotional dimension and women experience more jealousy. In addition, with respect to age (young - old) there are differences in the behavioural dimension and it is the young who experience the most jealousy.La presente investigación está orientada a estudiar si existen diferencias entre hombres y mujeres en cuanto a las dimensiones de los celos: dimensión emotiva, dimensión cognitiva y dimensión conductual. Además, también se midió si existen diferencias entre rangos de edad en esas tres dimensiones, concretamente entre jóvenes (17-25) y adultos (50-71). Los objetivos del estudio, por tanto, era ver si por ser hombre o ser mujer o ser joven o mayor se iban a obtener unas puntuaciones diferentes en cada una de las dimensiones; si las mujeres puntuarían más en la dimensión emocional; si las mujeres puntuarían más en la dimensión cognitiva y ver si los hombres puntuarían más en la dimensión conductual. Tras ello, las hipótesis generadas eran que: sí existirán diferencias entre hombres y mujeres; las mujeres puntuarán más alto en dimensión emocional y dimensión cognitiva y hombres puntuarán más alto en dimensión conductual. Un total de 197 personas, 70.56% mujeres y 29.44% hombres, de edades entre 18 y 71 años han participado respondiendo a un cuestionario sobre celos que mide las tres dimensiones. Para poder llevar a cabo los objetivos y contrastar las hipótesis, se realizó en el programa estadístico SPSS una comparación de medias. Los resultados en cuanto a hombres y mujeres muestran que existen diferencias en la dimensión emocional y las mujeres experimentan más celos. Además, respecto a la edad (jóvenes - mayores) existen diferencias en la dimensión conductual y son los jóvenes los que más celos experimentan
