International audienceThis volume assembles some contributions related to the fieldwork developed in the frame of the 26th Commission on the Sustainability of Rural Systems of the International Geographical Union Colloquium, held in Santiago de Compostela and other rural Galician places in July 2018. As is tradition in the IGU CSRS colloquia, fieldwork is a central part of each scientific annual event. The texts have been developed by scholars and practitioners who are expert on the places they work with. The book opens with a synthetic introduction of rural Galicia by critically presenting what the main issues currently at stake therein are.
