Background/aims: cardiopulmonary resuscitation and immediate activation of emergency medical services are crucial determinants of survival after cardiac-arrest. All citizens, including secondary school students should be taught how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). We conducted a case-control study to evaluate the efficacy of a onehourCPR training. Material and methods: 2 schools (out of 5 included) were randomized to receive a one-hour CPR-training session.
