Abstract : This paper reported numerical simulation and performance improvement of nanostructured Cu2O/TiO2 pn heterojunction solar cells. The solar cells equations were modelled and thereafter theoretical validation of the nanostructured metal oxides was performed. The model working points include a room temperature of 300K, input power of 1000W/m2 using an illumination of AM1.5 lamp, and thickness of 2 μm. The modelled solar cell exhibits a short-circuit current (Jsc) of 0.2819 A, the open-circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.1640 V, the fill factor (FF) of 0.28, and the efficiency (η) of 13.38% at 2.00 μm thickness.
