Session 3-2: Quantitative Studies of AE on Composite MaterialsInternational audienceAcoustic emission has been successfully applied for monitoring a large variety of industrial processes. In this overview of several studies of application of acoustic emission in powder technology, we try to develop this non-destructive technique in some processes with powder. Acoustic emission during powder compaction allows us to understand the behaviour of brittle materials and quantify the fragmentation of such powders. With visco-elastic powder, the compaction is different and we recorded weak acoustic emission.
