PELAKSANAAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM KEGIATAN BELAJAR MENGAJAR DI SDN SUMBERSARI II KOTA MALANG

The research begins from conditions in school learning, there are some students still late which shows lack of discipline. There are also some students forgot to do their homework which shown lack of responsibility character. There are students who disturb or bully their own friends, showing lack of friendly attitude. School has tried to teach character values to students implementation of such character values are expected to build and form god students characters. The research purpose is aimed to describe form, obstacle, and solution in teaching character education in teaching and learning in SDN Sumbersari II State Elementary School of Malang City. The research type is descriptive with qualitative approach. Data collection uses interview, documentation, and polling. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis method. From the research, it can be concluded (1) Form of character values teaching in teaching and learning in elementary school : a) Example giving by teacher; b) Habit for Students to have good attitude; c) Character insertion in every subjects; and d) Train students to obey the existing rule. There are 18 (eighteen) character values taught by teacher in school. (2) Obstacles in teaching character values : a) Some characters need more intensive teaching; b) Students depend on teacher in understanding characters; c) Difference mindset between teacher and parents; d) Heterogene students backgrounds; e) Students are lack attentive; f) students lack time discipline. (3) Solution to over come such obstacles are : a) Increasing teacher and parents sinergy, b) Get students to have religious attitude, c) teachers give examples, d) Teacher consistently direct students to act good and discipline. Result of character education in teaching and learning are not optimum since students are not used to apply, so character values need to be improved by encouraging and supporting from the parents
