The main purpose of this project is to design and optimize a monocoque chassis for the Oxford Brookes University for formula student electric vehicle 2019 -2020. The report background is established with the literature review about chassis design, monocoque composite material and torsional stiffness. The important chassis structure used in formula student race are explained to examine the advantages and disadvantages of each chassis structure. Design flexibility is considered to be the main factor for the chassis. Design is basically gradually developed and inspired from the OBR 2018/19 combustion vehicle chassis model.
