In 2016, about 2 million child deaths globally were prevented through routine vaccination; if all children had been immunised fully, a further 1.5 million child deaths could have been prevented. Globally, in 2016, Nigeria had the largest number of eligible infants who did not complete routine Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus vaccinations.
