Preparing your Digital Commons Metadata to be Harvested into the OAI: A Best Practice

The following presentation offer best practices and guidelines on how to prepare your Digital Commons’ descriptive metadata to be harvested and displayed into the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH). Attendants will learn how to: 1) customize a metadata upload form in Digital Commons to display specific metadata fields, 2) choose the most appropriate schema to display metadata for particular collections, and 3) map the metadata to the appropriate BePress proprietary schema elements that can display correctly into the Open Archives Initiative (OAI) for harvesting purposes
