This study provides a detailed view of the journal publication activities of academic librarians in Tennessee for the five-year period from 2007 through 2011. The authors are interested in developing a picture of the journalbased publication activities of this group of people in order to benchmark against previous studies and to contribute to an understanding of the publication activity of academic librarians. The trends identified will be useful for new professionals entering the field in positions that require publication for continued employment, as well as for those who are interested in a snapshot of recent journal publication activity of Tennessee academic librarians.
