The right to self-determination has had an interesting place in the history of international law. First arriving on the scene at the Treaty of Versailles, this concept has steadily evolved into a right that is believed to be held by all peoples. What has been of interest for many lawyers in recent years however, is whether such a right would entail a corollary right of secession?
