The title compound, C19H15FN2O2, is a Schiff base which has been synthesized by a condensation reaction of 6-methoxy-2-naphthohydrazide and 4-fluorobenzaldehyde. The molecule is almost planar with the C=N double bond in a trans configuration. The crystal packing is stabilized by N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds that link molecules into chains running along the c axis. There are also weak C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds as well as C—H⋯π-ring interactions in the crystal structure
