This paper was about the Swedish progressive music movement during 1973-1980. The purpose of this paper has been to contribute to an increased understanding of the Swedish progressive music movement. In order to achieve the purpose, the following problems have been formulated: How did the hegemonic understanding of progressive music movement look like in the music magazine Musikens makt? To approach this question, three sub-questions have been formulated which have been assisting in answering the essay's problem formulation: What conflicts about the music arose in the music movement?
