TEKNIK DAN FUNGSI HUMOR DALAM KOMENTATOR SEPAK BOLA VALENTINO SIMANJUNTAK

The purpose of this study is to describe humor creation techniques and identify the function of humor in football commentator, Valentino Simanjuntak.This study uses the observation method, with advanced techniques of Non-Participate Observation Technique (SBLC), Recording Technique and Taking Notes Technique. There are three matches that are the subject of the author's analysis, those are, the matches Indonesia versus Vietnam in the group stage, Indonesia versus Malaysia semi-final, and the final match between Indonesia versus Thailand. The analysis of data presents in informal method which explains the results of data analysis with ordinary words in a coherent manner to find out how humorous techniques are used and function of the humors. To present the data is used theory of Asa Berger's humor technique and Mulyani's humor function theory. The results of analysis show three aspects of humor creation, such as, aspect of language and logic. Language aspect includes techniques of misunderstanding, exaggeration, definite answers, word games, and insults. Then logic aspect includes repetition, figurative techniques, and indifference. In addition, three functions of humor are identified, such as, the function of entertaining, criticizing or mocking, and conveying information in an interesting manner.
