Heterogeneous network (HetNet) [1] is considered as an energy efficient system structure to alleviate the problem of rapidly increasing power consumption in the wireless communication system. Significant research on HetNet energy efficiency has been conducted. However, most of them only consider power consumption of Base Stations (BSs) while ignoring influence on energy efficiency of Mobile Devices (MDs) brought by new BSs deployment. In this work, we propose a novel power saving metric for HetNet.
