There are two distinct stem melodic patterns in Símákonde disjoint verb forms : penultimate melodies (H, L, LH and LHL) and a (macro) stem‑initial melodic high that is assigned to the left edge of the stem or of the macrostem. Tone doubling occurs only within the stem, but not on the penult.
