Near Zero Energy buildings is the compulsory and recognized path towards reducing energy consumption. The building envelope plays a crucial role in the efficiency of the building system and, in particular, adaptive façades can significantly reduce consumptions. These building envelope systems are able to dynamically respond to changes in order to satisfy occupants comfort more efficiently and effectively. They are controlled by intrinsic systems (self-adaptation) or extrinsic systems (active controls).
