Within of a project co-funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the final aim of which is to develop a WSN for the smart monitoring of pesticides in an agricultural field, the Italian and Serbian researchers have developed the hardware section of an electronic nose for pesticides. Since there are no any specialized sensors to smell the presence or no presence of pesticides in the air, the electronic nose has been realized starting from an array of commercial gas sensors developed for the other environmental applications.
