The aim of the thesis was to provide information to nurses to prevent the risk of sepsis in postoperative ward. The purpose of the literature review was to provide relevant infor-mation to reduce risk of sepsis and prevention of it in postoperative unit. The research was done using literature review method and the articles were used for this study were retrieved from Cinahl and Pubmed. The appropriate article was chosen based on the titles, abstracts, published year and full text which answered the research question. Con-tent analysis was applied.
