It has been proven, by the analysis of macroscopic amount of materiel pressed into pellets, that Raman spectrometry is a well suited technique to determine precisely the chemical compositions of uranium ore concentrates (UOCs), which is useful information for nuclear forensics and safeguards. However, as in some cases, only low amounts of UOC are available or the sample is a mixture of different UOCs, there is a need to carry out the identification at the individual grain or particle’s level.
