EnThe essay is based on the figure of Antonio De Ferrariis Galateo, in relation to Salento and particularly to the city of Nardò, where he completed his classical education. Nardò is the place in which the Duke Bellisario Acquaviva d'Aragona dominates. During the years Galateo dedicated to him some works in the style of letters. Among these letters there is the De Neophitis Epistle on the subject of marriage between a son of the Duke and a christiana nobella young girl. In this Epistle Galateo speaks of Jewish People, who were in Nardò, from immemorial time, and whom a large part of the essay is dedicated to.
