The main purpose of this article is to present the extension of ecosystemic linguistics known as critical ecosystemic linguistics or ecological discourse analysis (EDA). It is compared to traditional ecolinguistics, such as critical ecolinguistics, to French discourse analysis, to British critical discourse analysis, as well as to positive discourse analysis. All these versions of DA look for ideology (Marxist, feminist etc.) and power relations in the texts under analysis. EDA emphasizes a defense of life and a struggle against everything that may cause suffering to a living being.
