Da gramática pragmo-ecológica à ecolinguística (1973-1993)

The objective of this short artile is to present a synthesis of some of my main ideas on ecolinguistics as they have been appearing along the last decades. Among these ideas is the need of adopting a new linguistic model which is capable of dealing with any language phenomena, even if with the help of a specialized discipline. Not even “stratificational grammar”, which I practiced for a long time, is able to do this. In other words, ecolinguistics must be able to deal not only with the “exoecology” of language (language in relation to extralinguistic world) but also with language “endoecology”, i.e., with what tradicionally has been called “gramar”, “structure”, and “system”.  O objetivo desse pequeno artigo é apresentar uma síntese de algumas de minhas ideias ecolinguísticas que vêm sendo desenvolvidas ao longo do tempo. Entre elas a ideia de que é necessário adotar-se um novo modelo linguístico que seja capaz de se debruçar sobre todo e qualquer fenômeno da linguagem, mesmo que para isso tenha que se valer da ajuda de disciplinas parcelares. Nem a “gramática estratificacional” que pratiquei por longos anos é capaz dessa tarefa. Enfim, a ecolinguística precisa dar conta não apenas de questões “exoecológicas” (exterioridade da linguagem), como análise de discursos, ambienbientalismo etc. Ela tem que se haver também com a “endoecologia” linguística, ou seja, com o que se tem chamado tradicionalmente de “gramática”, “estrutura” e “sistema”
