TEORIA DA METÁFORA CONCEPTUAL- OS CANDIDATOS , O POVO E A MÍDIA

The studies on language have emphasized the formal aspect, but mainly to the study of human language in use. Within the framework of CognitiveLinguistics the language was seen as the domain interacting with other cognitive domains such as perception, categorization and memory. The cognitive approach of metaphor given by Lakoff and Johnson (2002) asserts that metaphors are directly linked to our perceptions of the world and our own body. The metaphor as a figure representative of human thinking helps us understand that our language reveals a huge metaphorical conceptual system that also regulates all our thought and action. This study of cognitive-discursive dimension, with the starting point of the cultural gifts of language, sought in the theory of Lakoff and Johnson (2002), reaffirm that the metaphor is actually one of the central elements of the communicative process to take as starting point for their moment, the cultural identity of candidates for the 2010 elections, according to the use of metaphors in his speeches. The research continues with discussion of some other metaphors used by the media and individuals in general.Os estudos sobre a Linguagem têm dado ênfase ao seu aspecto formal, mas principalmente ao estudo da linguagem humana em uso. No âmbito da Linguística Cognitiva a linguagem passou a ser vista como domínio cognitivo interagindo com outros domínios como a percepção, a categorização e a memória. O enfoque cognitivista da metáfora dado por Lakoff e Johnson (2002) assevera que as metáforas estão diretamente ligadas às nossas percepções do mundo e do nosso próprio corpo. A metáfora como figura representativa do pensamento humano nos ajuda a compreender que a nossa linguagem revela um imenso sistema conceptual metafórico que rege também todo nosso pensamento e nossa ação,refletindo dados de uma cultura. Este estudo de vertente cognitivo-discursiva, buscou, na teoria de Lakoff e Johnson (2002), reafirmar que a metáfora constitui realmente um dos elementos centrais do processo comunicativo ao tomar, como ponto de partida, pelo seu momento, a identidade cultural de candidatos às eleições de 2010, segundo o uso de metáforas em seus discursos. A pesquisa prossegue com exame de algumas outras metáforas usadas pela mídia e pelos indivíduos em geral
