The aim of this paper is to analyze the meanings conferred by health professionals on assignments of a Children and Adolescents’ Psychosocial Care Center (CAPSi) in a Southeastern Region of Brazil. A qualitative approach was used. Study participants consisted of 15 professionals. For data collection the technique of semi-structured interviews was used and data were subjected to content analysis. The results indicate that the assignments appointed by the professionals are mostly in line with the proposal of the Ministry of Health. The study also shows the importance of better understanding the CAPSi assignments on the implementation of the Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS).
