This paper tries to show how Merleau-Ponty\u27s reflection is an example which corroborates the ambiguity and contingency the philosopher gives to reality and its expressions. We will considerer each level in which the author develops his thought, and in which such ambiguity and contingency are manifested: the phenomenology, the ontology, the arts and the politics. A typical consideration in his work is the rupture with the antagonisms originated in the modern opposition "subject-object": realism-idealism; world-conscience; sensibility-intelligence.
